Mission Accomplished
The Manifesto of Expansionism
On this 9th day of October 2001, I am here before you declaring our insurgency. There comes a time necessary to people to acknowledge their pain and suffering. My friends, the time has arrived and it has been over due for a long time. It has been almost 200 years that we have been here, living on this land, the west. The west coast, which includes states such as California, Arizona, Utah, New Mexico and Nevada, were here long before the white men came. Before they were the majority, before they had total control of power. We were here long before the majority came to power in the west. We have been here long before them, and still yet we are considered the minority. We were here long before the US-Mexican war. We were here before the gold rush. But yet still, we remain the less fortunate. The ones with less education. The ones without power in the government. The ones without a seat in the senate. The ones without a voice in the house.
When the US-Mexican war began on April 25, 1846, it only lasted two years. But those two years did not come without cost. It ended with The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. The Mexico had to give up all the west coast states as a cost of war to the U.S. Did we not know the price of these States? Were we not aware of the gold and the minerals? When the news of the gold rush of 1848, the same year the Treaty was signed, hit the East Coast, millions of people traveled West. Why didn’t we took advantage of this opportunity and expanded? Why were we kicked out of our own land? Why did we voluntarily gave our gold and minerals? Should we still pay a price for living here? Why can’t we be the majority? We can be at least the majority in the West. Then, perhaps we can work our way into the rest. No one has the answer for these questions. But there is still time; we are still just in the beginning of our expansionism. If our ancestors did not started it, we should. It is time for us to begin our new mission. It is time for us to start taking back, and expanding our people to our land.
Some of us might get angry knowing this. But most of us have accepted the fact. This should call our attention that our people need to be noticed. And need to be stretched out over the vast land. We should no longer be considered a minority group. Our ancestors did not have the tools and the power to start the revolution that we are about to. They were too busy working in the fields and taking care of their families. We no longer need to be slaves to fast food restaurants, victims of cheap labor and working on the fields. Time has come to take charge. Time has come to take power and put our people in positions of senate and the house.
We have suffered long enough. We have been suffering for more than two hundred years. But we are tough and hard working people. We have strength and integrity. We have understanding and courage. We have power to overcome obstacles. From Caesar Chaves to present we are people of bravery and heroism. We have patience and love. We also know that this task is not easy. We have to take time and the courage we have will help us achieve our goals. We need each other’s help to expand our population. There are not enough of us to over come the majority. We need to colonize our people and spread out. There are four white to each one of us, which has made them the majority over us. But no longer we need to feel inferior. We need our women to look into their hearts, and to join us in this revolution. With their help in this rebellion, we can achieve what our ancestors could not. Our loving young women play a major role in colonizing our new generation. We cannot do this by ourselves. We need every woman to participate in this mutiny, which is the key to the expansion of our people all over.
I say to you young women, help us with this cause. Join each and every man in your town, city and neighborhood to bring upon a new generation who will be most powerful. I say to you, help us win this war. Help us overcome the famine and suffering of our people. Help us, help our people, help our families and most of all help yourselves. The new generation will present us in the senate and the house. The new generation will be our voice to the world. Once again, the West will be ours. We shall have a saying in this world and no longer be the victims of cheap labor and slavery to white men. As ones said by a Malcolm X, “We shall overcome.”
