User Technology Specialist Selection Committee
City of Phoenix
Dear Selection Committee,
My name is Jack. I attended the career fair at Phoenix College and learned about the opening position with the City of Phoenix. I am currently enrolled in Accelerated CIS program at Devry Institute of Technology as a junior. I have equivalent credits to have my Associates in CIS, but Devry does not offer Associates degree in CIS. I have experience in installing and upgrading software and hardware for computers. I am a part time computer consultant, which has given me the opportunity to advance my knowledge in computers. I have taken advance C++, UNIX and other varieties of computer classes, which have helped me develop and improve my expertise and knowledge on computer hardware and software. I also worked as a Help Desk Support for Choice Hotels International where I learned about Windows NT support, installation and configuration. I develop further comprehension and proficiency on NT and UNIX workstation at Motorola, where I was testing and programming embedded circuit boards. I am dependable, reliable, fast learner, and can work under no or light supervision.
I was employed with the City of Phoenix Planning Department in 1995. It was a co-op with my high school CEO (Cooperative Executive Officer) Program. I am enclosing two letters of recommendations, by co-worker when I was employed by the City of Phoenix. I enjoyed working for the City of Phoenix and I look forward hearing from you. Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
